Sailing Courses

Rye Watersports is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre offering Dinghy sailing with a wide range of courses for beginners to advanced pupils. We are based in East Sussex only 50 minutes from Tunbridge Wells in Kent, and one hour from South London and the Surrey border. Dinghy sailing lessons on the South East Coast can be daunting, with tide and waves to contend with, but our coastal lake, midway between Rye and Camber Sands, is ideal for your first introduction to dinghy sailing and going on to advanced sailing in stronger winds.

Our fleet consists of Laser Pico’s, Fusions, Topper Topaz, RS Quest & RS Feva these are the perfect boats to progress from beginner to confident sailor in. Because we are only one hour from South London and easy to get to from Surrey via the M.25, dingy sailing lessons on our coastal lake are accessible to anyone living in the home counties.

Southerly winds funnel in over the Kent and Sussex shore to create constant sea breezes that make learning to dinghy sail fun so it is well worth the trip if you live in Surrey or inland Kent to come to Rye Watersports for your sailing lesson. Added to this our experienced Royal Yachting Association instructors will build your confidence and teach you all the skills necessary to get you sailing. We are a really chilled out dinghy centre in a truly amazing position only a mile from the sea at Camber Sands, Sussex on the South East Coast.
