April 23 Newsletter

We’ve had wind, rain, and showers in abundance throughout April. The sun didn’t put in much of an appearance at Easter and yet despite this, we had some hardy kids down over the holidays on windsurfing and sailing courses.

Thankfully now that we’re heading into May there seems to be a return of some south-westerly winds and a bit of warmth with it.

With fully booked WingSurfing courses over the bank holiday, we’ve added some extra Learn to and Improver courses over the Coronation weekend.

You can book your course here:

It was all about training over this last month. Both personally for me as centre manager, becoming a WingSurfing Instructor, but also my wider team. Four of our Rye team qualified as WingSurf & WingFoiling instructors as well as Start & Intermediate Windsurfing.  This sets us up brilliantly for the 2023 season with a fabulous spread of watersports disciplines on offer at the centre.

Last but not least I’d like to congratulate George Sheppard on becoming our Chief Dinghy instructor. After having achieved his Senior Instructor qualification at the end of last year he has just completed running our first Dinghy Assistant Instructor training course. We had five 14/15yr olds training with us that have all shown great potential as future Rye team instructors.

We can’t wait for May to start taking shape. Welcoming school groups back and teaching watersports to both children and adults.
